About the ExoGame Recommender System

What is ExoGame?

ExoGame is a recommendation system designed to support NASA crew members during their space missions by providing game suggestions that enhance team cohesion, relaxation, and mental stimulation. Utilizing biometric data, crew sentiment, and compartment information, exogame.v1 evaluates key metrics to determine the most appropriate recreational activity for the crew based on their current status.

How It Works

The system analyzes real-time data from NASA missions, including biometric indicators like heart rate and oxygen levels, crew mood and energy levels, as well as the environmental conditions of their living compartments. By combining these data sources, exogame.v1 calculates affinity scores that reflect the crew's readiness for different types of activities. These scores are then used to suggest games from a curated list, each tailored to match the crew's physical, mental, and emotional states.

Acknowledgments

ExoGame was developed with the invaluable support and data provided by NASA and it's partners such as the CSA. We extend our sincere thanks to SpaceApps Challenge 2024 - Ottawa Chapter, for making their resources available. We would also like to thank ChatGPT and it's makers, which served as a catalyst for the creation of this tool. We hope you enjoy exogame.v1 and use it as a learning tool, to study and improve the well-being and productivity of crew members during their missions.

Last but not least, we would like to thank the Girl Guides and Scouts Canada, for their ongoing inspiration and source of many space game suggestions.

NOTE: All biometric, sentiment, and compartment data are used responsibly, and the primary goal of ExoGame is to provide safe, engaging, and beneficial recreational activities to enhance crew experiences in space.
